Thoughts and prayers to both the Waterville and Cannon Falls Fire Departments. A Waterville firefighter died and a Cannon Falls firefighter is seriously injured from an off-duty crash on July 10, 2019.
William Elmer Potter, 27, of Waterville was killed Wednesday in an early morning crash on Hwy. 60 west of Faribault. Potter, a married father of two, was a member of the Waterville Fire Department, graduating in June with its 2019 recruiting class.
The other vehicle was driven by Andrew Joseph Stein, 40, of Cannon Falls. Stein is a member of the Cannon Falls Fire Department. He suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to St. Marys in Rochester.
