Individuals, businesses, and other organizations also are encouraged to join in lowering their flags in observance of the anniversary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSeptember 11th is a solemn day of remembrance across the state of Minnesota,\u201d said Governor Walz. \u201cOn the 19th anniversary, we lower our flags in honor of the Americans who were lost, who were injured, and who saved lives on that tragic day. We recognize the incredible heroism of our nation\u2019s first responders and we reflect on the unwavering spirit of the American people \u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In respect for the victims of this tragedy, Governor Walz proclaimed Friday, September 11, 2020, to be Patriot Day and a Day of Service and Remembrance in the State of Minnesota. Governor Walz encourages all Minnesotans to observe the National Moment of Silence at 7:46 a.m. Central Daylight Time, and the Minnesota Department of Transportation will light the I-35W Bridge in Minneapolis with red, white, and blue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The proclamation from Governor Walz reads as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WHEREAS:<\/strong> September 11, 2020 marks the 19th anniversary of the terrorist attacks against the United States of America in which thousands of innocent people were killed, maimed, or injured; and<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WHEREAS:<\/strong> Police officers, fire, and rescue personnel, other first responders, and American citizens demonstrated extraordinary bravery; and<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WHEREAS:<\/strong> The people of Minnesota have set aside this day to honor, remember, and mourn the victims of this tragedy; and <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WHEREAS:<\/strong> The Minnesota Department of Transportation will light the I-35W Bridge in Minneapolis with the red, white, and blue colors of the flag of the United States of America on Friday, September 11, 2020 in honor of victims of the attacks; and <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WHEREAS:<\/strong> It is right and proper for all Minnesotans to observe a moment of silence beginning at 7:46 a.m. Central Daylight Time, to honor the innocent victims who perished as a result of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001; and<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WHEREAS:<\/strong> President Donald J.
