This year’s Minnesota Fallen Firefighter Memorial Service is this coming Sunday, and we look forward to once again gathering in person to honor our fallen brothers and sisters. As we prepare, the Minnesota Fire Service Foundation needs your help. We are asking you to:
Encourage firefighters to participate in the Sea of Blue at the 2022 memorial service at the Minnesota Fallen Firefighter Memorial located at the State Capitol in St. Paul on Sunday, Sept. 25.
The memorial service is held each year on the last Sunday in September, which has been designated as the state’s official day to honor Minnesota’s fallen firefighters.
Please share the following details with the departments in your region:
- Find more details about the event at www.mnfireservicefoundation.org.
- Fire departments may send firefighters in fire apparatus, if desired. Parking on John Ireland Blvd, northbound only.
- The foundation requests that firefighters wear Class A uniforms, if they have them. If not, non-Class A uniforms are also acceptable.
- At 11:30 am, fire service personnel from the Minnesota Fire Service Foundation’s founding organizations will read the Honor Roll – all the names of Minnesota’s fallen firefighters.
- At 12:30, firefighters can line up for the Sea of Blue.
