It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of SCOTT REVIER age 59, of Winger, Minnesota passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND.
Scott was born in Moorhead, MN, on September 10, 1962, to Joe and Betty Revier. The second of five children, he grew up in Mahnomen, MN, attending St. Michael’s Elementary and Mahnomen High School. Scott had fond memories of time spent with his brother, Nick, at their father’s welding shop. He also enjoyed a close relationship with his grandparents, Connie and Ben Hoeschen, spending much of his time on the farm with them, as well as working for his cousin, Pete.
His love for agriculture firmly cemented under such positive influences, Scott headed to the University of Minnesota Crookston before transferring to the University of Minnesota St. Paul. There, Scott joined the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity where he made life-long friendships and memories he very fondly reminisced about. Scott graduated with a B.S. in Agronomy Education and began his career in the agriculture industry.
It’s the relationships Scott built with the people he met along the way that he appreciated most. While working at Green Giant in Le Sueur, and as the Agronomy Manager Assistant at Farmers Union Oil Company in Hampton, Scott spent many memorable weekends with his close friends in LeSueur. In the fall of 1993, he moved back to Mahnomen to work as the Agronomy Manager at Farmer’s Union Oil Company. It was Anita Liebl’s good fortune that she was working weekends at Checkerboard Pizza at that same time. Several meals of a chicken burger, fries and Mountain Dew later he finally asked Anita out. They were married January 28, 1995, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
Scott believed very strongly in giving in whatever ways he was able. He joined the Volunteer Fire Department in Mahnomen in 1993 and when he moved to Winger, joined their department. Scott’s commitment to the fire department was very dear to his heart and he ended his service as fire chief and first responder of the Winger Volunteer Fire and Rescue. He took great pleasure in serving the community with his fellow Lions members; he enjoyed not only the social aspect and friendships made, but also the satisfaction that together they were privileged to help so many. Scott also enjoyed being involved at St. Lawrence by teaching Sunday School then Confirmation Class, being a lector and in any other way he could help out. Scott also served on the Win-E-Mac School Board for 11 years.
Scott is survived by his wife of 27 years, Anita, his sons: Daniel, Michael, Joseph, and Thomas; his mother, Elizabeth, siblings: Nick (Jean) Revier, Joan (Corey) Refshaw, Chris (Kristine) Revier and Connie (Jason) Darco, as well as many nieces and nephews. Scott is preceded in death by his father, Joseph, grandparents, Ralph and Theresia Revier and Benedict and Connie Hoeschen; father-in-law, Cletus Liebl; brother-in-law, Doug Liebl; and nephew, Joseph Gieseke.
