Minnesota 9 11 Tribute

This tribute has existed for 20 years.  The 20th Anniversary Concert will be held at the Lake Harriet Band Shell on Saturday, September 11, 2021. The free concert for Minnesotans honors the friends, families and loved ones that died in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington DC as well as the first responders in our community. These life-saving professionals were the “stand-up” hero’s of the 9-11 New York terrorist attack, and we honor our Minnesota First Responders on this day, each year. Admission is Free and Open to the Public.

The day starts off with a Firefighter Walk from 4:00 to 5:00 pm starting at the Lake Harriet Band Shell. It will be a Walk With Firefighters around Lake Harriet.

The main concert runs from 5:00 t0 9:00 pm.  It will feature 204th Army Band, CW2 Andrew Nelson, Commander; Twin Cities Trumpet Ensemble, James Olcott, Conductor; MN 9-11 Tribute Chorus, Karla Miller, Director.

State Capitol Event

The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs, the 9/11 Global War on Terrorism Task Force, and the Minnesota Military Museum will mark the 20th anniversary of 9/11 this September with an event on the Minnesota State Capitol grounds. The official “9/11 Day of Remembrance” is scheduled in-person for Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021. In addition to memorializing the events of that day and honoring those impacted, this event is focused on bringing the community together through a message of hope, unity and resilience.
