Presidential Proclamation Honoring the Victims of the Tragedy in Thousand Oaks, California

As a mark of solemn respect for the victims of the terrible act of violence perpetrated in Thousand Oaks, California, on November 7, 2018, by the authority vested in me as President of the United States by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, I hereby order that the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions until sunset, November 10, 2018. I also direct that the flag shall be flown at half-staff for the same length of time at all United States embassies, legations, consular offices, and other facilities abroad, including all military facilities and naval vessels and stations.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this eighth day of November, in the year of our Lord two thousand eighteen, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-third.

Governor Dayton Orders Flags Flown at Half-Staff in Honor of the Victims of the Attack in Thousand Oaks, California

ST. PAUL, MN – In accordance with a proclamation issued today by President Donald Trump, Governor Mark Dayton has directed all United States flags and Minnesota flags to be flown at half-staff at all state and federal buildings in the State of Minnesota. As directed by the President’s proclamation, flags will be flown at half-staff beginning immediately, until sunset on Saturday, November 10, 2018, as a mark of respect for the victims of the terrible act of violence in Thousand Oaks, California.

On Wednesday, November 7, 2018, a horrific act of violence was committed against innocent people at the Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks, California. The victims and their families deserve our honor, respect, and remembrance.

Governor Dayton’s proclamation:

WHEREAS: On Wednesday, November 7, 2018, a terrible act of violence was perpetrated against innocent victims in Thousand Oaks, California; and

WHEREAS: The victims and their families deserve our honor, respect, and remembrance; and

WHEREAS: The President of the United States of America has lowered United States flags at all public buildings, grounds, and military posts of the Federal Government until sunset on Saturday, November 10, 2018.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, MARK DAYTON, Governor of Minnesota, do order all United States flags and Minnesota flags be flown at half-staff at all state and federal buildings in the State of Minnesota immediately through sunset on Saturday, November 10, 2018, in memory of the victims of this tragedy.
