Officer Steve and his wife Susie were tragically killed in a motorcycle accident last week in Elk River, MN. He is predeceased by brother Donnie, survived by his siblings: Eric, Tammy, Terry, Gerald. He served in the Army as a Private first Class as a MP. He was the Blaine High school liaison officer for the past 10 years.
The memorial service for the couple is planned for Thursday, June 21, at Blaine High School, where Steve Nanney spent the last three years of his career as a school resource officer.
The service will begin at 2:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium, 12555 University Ave., Blaine, with doors opening at 2 p.m.
Steve Nanney worked for the city of Blaine for a decade, and Susie Nanney was an associate professor at the University of Minnesota.
Both Steve and Susie Nanney were from Missouri, and a funeral service will be held there at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations for educational scholarships, Special Olympics and youth traffic safety education will be accepted at 21st Century Bank, 9380 Central Ave. NE, Blaine, attention Blaine Police Federation FBO Officer Steve and Susie Nanney.
