West Metro Fire-Rescue District and the MN Fallen Firefighters Memorial Association are proud to announce the 2018 Honor Guard Clinic at Camp Ripley the weekend of April 27-29.
This Honor Guard Clinic is open to all Fire Service, EMS and Police personnel that would like to attend; agencies may send multiple personnel. We have room for 65 attendees, the cost is $50 per person; meals, lodging and training are included in this cost.
The professional training staff of the Milwaukee Honor Guard Clinic (www.milwaukeehonorguardclinic.org) will be the instructing cadre. Private rooms (with a shared bathroom per every 2 rooms) for each attendee as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday plus breakfast on Sunday will be provided.
No experience is necessary to attend; training topics will cover:
- Basic and advanced drill and ceremonies (facing movements, marching and saluting)
- Posting, and retrieving of the colors (single or multiple flags)
- Posting, changing and retrieving of casket guards (one or two guards and final salute)
- Casket team operations (pall bearer operations, casket movement, flag folding, loading and unloading)
- Basic and advanced planning for all types of honor guard operations (vehicle and personnel staging)
