It is with great sadness that to announce the untimely and sudden passing of Mayer Fire Captain Jeffrey A. Vollmer. After returning home from a training exercise, Captain Vollmer suffered an apparent heart attack and despite efforts to revive him, he passed early Tuesday morning. Captain Vollmer leaves behind both parents, his wife Emily and two daughters; Anika (age 9) and Kennedi (age 7). He joined the fire department in 2005 and has served as Captain for the past four years.
