The visitation for Officer William Mathews, Wayzata PD, will be Wednesday, September 13th from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Wayzata Free Church, 705 Highway 101 North in Plymouth, Minnesota.
The funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Wayzata Free Church, 705 Highway 101 North in Plymouth, Minnesota. Interment Summit Park Cemetery in Wayzata, Minnesota.
In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the Officer Bill Mathews Memorial Fund at any Wells Fargo Bank.

Mathews, William “Bill” age 47 of Plymouth, Minnesota died September 8, 2017. Preceded in death by his mother, Jill Louise Mathews and father-in-law, Robert Allen Budolfson. Survived by his wife, Shawn Mathews; son, Wyatt age 7; father, Robert “Bob” Mathews and mother-in-law, Sandra Budolfson; brother, Daniel “Dan” Mathews (Nikki) and their children, Christopher, Ryan and Sara; sister-in-law, Beth Fabel (Rory) and their children, Joe, Christa and Dave; sister-in-law, Kara Pinter (Scott) and their children, Annika, Caden and Bryce; brother-in-law, Craig Budolfson (Casie) and their children, Elsie and Rylan; a host of extended family including his fellow officers and members of the law enforcement community. Bill graduated from Pine Island High School, near Rochester, and attended Rochester Community College. He earned a degree in law enforcement from Winona State University and worked with the Winona and Rochester Police Departments prior to becoming a licensed Police Officer. His first job as a licensed officer was with the Zumbrota Police Department. He joined the Wayzata Police Department in 2008.
