Kyle William Clarence Weisbrich - Melrose FD
14 November 2006 - Kyle was a volunteer fireman for the City of Melrose and was involved in a motor vehicle accident while enroute to the Fire Hall for a rescue call. The accident happened at the intersection of South Central Avenue and 4th Street at 11:38 AM, Sunday 11-12-06. Weisbrich was driving a motorcycle and collided with a passenger car. He was transported by ambulance to Melrose Hospital. He died at the hospital from injuries sustained in the accident. The Melrose Police Dept and the MN State Highway Patrol are investigating the accident.

Continue to four-way stop, turn right onto Main Street and continue until you locate a Freeport Fire vehicle for additional information.

Funeral services will be 11 AM on Saturday, November 18, 2006 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Melrose for Kyle Wesibrich, age 22, of Melrose who died on Sunday November 12, 2006 as a result of injuries sustained in the line of duty as a firefighter. The Rev. Vincent Lieser will officiate. Interment will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be between 3:30-9 PM on Friday, November 17, 2006 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home. Family & firefighter prayer service will be at 6:30 PM also on Friday evening. Additional visitation will be on Saturday morning from 9:30 – 11:00 prior to the funeral service at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. All arrangements are with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services, 418 South 5th Ave East, Melrose, MN.
Kyle was born on October 27, 1984 in St Cloud to Duane & Cindy (Anderson) Weisbrich. He graduated Melrose High School in 2003 and attended St. Cloud Technical College for Firefighter I & II and was a Minnesota State Registered Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Kyle was employed by Character Drywall in St. Cloud. He was a member of the Melrose Fire Department for the past 9 months.
He is survived by his parents Cindy Anderson Weisbrich & Duane Weisbrich, brother Justin Weisbrich, Dick & LaNita Anderson (Grandparents), Cec Tylutki (Anderson) & Pete Tylutki (Aunt & Uncle).
A memorial fund has been set up at the Freeport State Bank 219 East Main Street, Melrose, MN 56352 or at the Central MN Federal Credit Union located at 20 South 4th Ave E, Melrose, MN 56352.
Governor Tim Pawlenty today ordered that the United States flag and the State of Minnesota flag be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol from sunrise until sunset on Saturday, November 18, 2006, in honor and remembrance of Kyle William Clarence Weisbrich, a volunteer firefighter from Melrose who died on Saturday, November 12, 2006 while performing his duties as a volunteer firefighter.
Funeral services for Kyle Weisbrich will be held in Melrose, Minnesota on Saturday.

Whereas: Kyle William Clarence Weisbrich was born on October 27, 1984, in St. Cloud, Minnesota, to Duane and Cindy (Anderson) Weisbrich; and Whereas: After graduating from Melrose High School in 2003, Kyle Weisbrich went on to study at St. Cloud Technical College for Firefighter I and II and was a Minnesota State Registered Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); and Whereas: Kyle Weisbrich was a volunteer firefighter for the Melrose Fire Department since February, 2006; and Whereas: Kyle Weisbrich passed away as the result of an in-the-line-of-duty accident while performing his duties as a volunteer firefighter on Sunday, November 12, 2006; and Whereas: Kyle Weisbrich is survived by his mother, Cindy Anderson-Weisbrich; father Duane Weisbrich; brother, Justin Weisbrich; grandparents, Dick and LaNita Anderson; aunt and uncle, Pete and Cec (Anderson) Tylutki; and many other family and friends who loved him dearly and will miss him greatly; and Whereas: Visitation for Kyle Weisbrich will be held on Friday, November 17, 2006, at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home from 3:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A family and firefighter prayer service will be held on Friday at 6:30 p.m.; and Whereas: A funeral service for Kyle William Clarence Weisbrich will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose.
