MFFMA’s mission is to ensure that every firefighter line-of-duty death (LODD) in Minnesota is recognized with a dignified memorial service regardless of fire department membership, religious or political affiliation, or any other distinction.
Association members are available to assist departments in forming honor guards, and we post colors and participate in certain statewide events such as conferences and the State Fair.
Many new honor guards are forming in Minnesota to help honor individual fire department LODDs, non-line of duty and retiree funerals. The Minnesota State Fire Chiefs Association has created a handbook that includes ceremonial recommendations; the book should be available this fall.
Anyone interested in joining the MFFMA can find application information on our website. The association welcomes new members - and “Let’s Play Ball!”
